About me
I am a software developer with a background in Earth Sciences and Academic Research.
I started my career as a geologist, working as a researcher, first as a graduate student, and later on as a member of a research group. I always loved learning, and finding a solution, or explanation to different problems. Working in research not only allowed me to do these, it also improved my critical thinking and problem solving skills, due to many hours spent with data analysis and interpretation. It also taught me to be tenacious, and don’t be discouraged by failed experiments, or unexpected roadblocks. All these skills helped me in my career change and to become a better software developer since.
For the past six years I have been working as a Java developer. I had a chance to work on various software integration projects, and gain experience not only in development, but also in design, testing, and maintenance. I gained a good understanding and implementation knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns, and OOPs concepts, and learned to use different frameworks.
I love my new chosen profession. As a software developer I have the opportunity to challenge myself, improve my skills, and always learn something new.
It's time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.
